About the Role
The role involves diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy-duty mobile equipment used in underground mining operations, with a focus on preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and minimizing downtime through efficient troubleshooting and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain underground mining machinery
- Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic system faults
- Perform routine servicing on heavy-duty equipment
- Repair diesel engines and powertrain components
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and controls
- Replace worn or damaged parts
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Follow maintenance schedules and logs
- Work in confined underground environments
- Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment
- Collaborate with operations teams
- Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly
- Support commissioning of new machinery
