People Can Fly is looking for a Senior UI Artist to join the team developing an unannounced AAA game. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the artistic direction for the user interface, producing high-quality assets, and ensuring a cohesive visual style that aligns with the project's universe.
What You'll Do
- Maintain the artistic direction and visual quality of UI assets, ensuring they align with the project's universe and vision.
- Produce high-quality, technically optimized UI art consistent with the game’s visual style.
- Craft static and dynamic user interfaces that clearly communicate information and deliver an engaging, intuitive user experience.
- Translate wireframes into polished assets meeting technical specifications and deadlines.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation outlining the UI's visual language, including color theory, typography, iconography, hierarchy, and motion design.
- Support bug fixing and contribute to R&D documentation and case studies.
- Actively participate in design and art reviews, adapting and implementing feedback.
- Provide constructive input to elevate the overall visual quality of UI elements.
- Engage in knowledge sharing across teams and departments.
- Collaborate closely with UX Designers, Game Designers, Producers, and other stakeholders to prioritize and refine visual direction.
- Develop and maintain project-specific style guides and high-fidelity asset libraries for consistency and scalability.
- Participate in R&D initiatives to explore and integrate new techniques into pipelines.
- Occasionally assist with recruitment efforts and onboarding new team members.
What We're Looking For
- A strong portfolio demonstrating UI expertise.
- At least one AAA title shipped.
- Solid understanding of foundational art and design principles: shape, form, texture, value, color, typography, and layout.
- Deep understanding of UI/UX principles and conventions.
- Skilled in applying accessibility best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and other wireframing/prototyping tools.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent knowledge of industry-standard software packages for modeling and high-poly sculpting.
- Proven understanding of UI design in games across multiple genres and platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to new tools, styles, and workflows.
- Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills across departments.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience with Maya.
- Lua scripting and integration within UI systems.
