About the Role
This position leads service operations for wind energy systems, managing on-site diagnostics, repairs, and team coordination during travel-intensive assignments.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site wind turbine maintenance and repair operations
- Supervise and guide field service technicians during assignments
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
- Conduct routine and emergency service visits at wind farms
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Coordinate with project managers for scheduling and logistics
- Train junior technicians on technical procedures and safety practices
- Inspect turbine components for wear, damage, or performance issues
- Oversee parts inventory and equipment readiness
- Implement corrective actions based on diagnostic findings
- Support commissioning and decommissioning of wind units
- Adhere to environmental and regulatory guidelines
- Communicate technical issues to stakeholders clearly
- Ensure tools and test equipment are calibrated and functional
- Respond to equipment failures with minimal downtime
- Lead safety audits and job hazard analyses
- Promote continuous improvement in service processes
- Work in rotating shift patterns including weekends
- Travel extensively to remote project sites
- Operate at elevated heights and in variable weather conditions
- Follow lockout-tagout and confined space procedures
- Assist in developing service work plans
- Verify quality of completed service tasks
- Escalate complex technical challenges appropriately
