The Transportation Support Coordinator is a remote role responsible for supporting drivers, dispatchers, and operations to ensure freight moves efficiently. This position provides foundational experience for individuals aiming to transition into an Independent Freight Dispatcher role in the future, with support from American Logistics Authority.
What You'll Do
- Provide drivers with updated instructions, addresses, and appointment times
- Track ETAs, delays, breakdowns, and HOS considerations
- Help drivers resolve road issues quickly and professionally
- Confirm pickup and delivery appointments
- Track loads and provide real-time updates to brokers/shippers
- Verify BOLs, PODs, and ensure the freight matches the bill (prevent wrong-load issues)
- Estimate realistic load/unload times
- Prevent overscheduling and tight back-to-back appointment windows
- Upload all paperwork into the TMS
- Track detention, layover, and TONU opportunities
- Keep clean, accurate load notes
- Send check calls and status updates
- Notify brokers of changes or delays
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with shippers/brokers
