About the Role

The role involves conducting traffic studies, analyzing transportation systems, and designing solutions to improve safety and efficiency for public and private sector projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate traffic flow and capacity for transportation projects
  • Conduct field reviews and data collection for traffic studies
  • Develop plans for traffic signal timing and coordination
  • Support transportation planning efforts for urban and suburban developments
  • Design geometric layouts for roadways and intersections
  • Prepare traffic impact analyses for new developments
  • Model traffic operations using simulation software
  • Assess safety performance of existing transportation facilities
  • Create reports summarizing study findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Work with public agencies on project approvals
  • Develop construction drawings and details
  • Support sustainable transportation initiatives
  • Apply current design standards and guidelines
  • Assist in developing transportation management plans
  • Participate in project scoping and proposal development
  • Use GIS and CAD tools for spatial analysis
  • Present technical information to clients and stakeholders
  • Stay current with transportation policy and regulations
  • Contribute to long-range transportation planning efforts
  • Analyze multimodal transportation needs including pedestrian and bicycle facilities
  • Support intelligent transportation systems (ITS) planning
  • Evaluate roundabout and alternative intersection designs
  • Assist in traffic calming and neighborhood traffic management
  • Perform capacity and level-of-service analyses
