Responsibilities
- Maintain uniformity, balance, and geometry databases to ensure testing aligns with OEM and central quality standards.
- Oversee production, testing, and analysis of control tires, initiating corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure regular and high-quality vector separation and optimization processes are performed.
- Conduct routine audits of uniformity technicians and implement follow-up actions as required.
- Monitor daily uniformity and balance yields and trends to lead yield improvement initiatives.
- Initiate troubleshooting for significant uniformity deviations and supervise corrective measures.
- Lead resolution efforts for customer complaints related to tire uniformity performance.
- Ensure adherence to ISO/TS 16949, legal, customer, and internal quality requirements within the assigned area.
- Enforce compliance with established policies and procedures for uniformity testing.
- Own and manage plant-specific testing specifications for tire uniformity, geometry, and balance.
- Enhance test accuracy by implementing repeatability checks and statistical process controls.
- Lead biennial cross-check activities with central quality management, including planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve technical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Provide coaching in structured problem-solving methods for technical challenges.
- Manage team attendance and leave schedules effectively.
- Analyze rework data continuously and collaborate with visual task forces to resolve root causes.
- Participate in structured problem-solving for customer complaints involving tire appearance and uniformity defects.
- Coordinate team efforts and action plans to reduce rework across relevant departments.
- Propose process improvements to the business team based on defect trend analysis, especially for critical OE tires.
- Deliver orientation training on quality management topics for new team members.
- Conduct internal and cross-departmental training on uniformity testing procedures.
- Support product introduction teams in evaluating ETO/ISD data related to rework and initial uniformity yield.
- Assist in developing improvement strategies based on ETO/ISD analysis outcomes.
- Monitor slow-moving tire sizes in OEM production and take action to improve virgin uniformity yields.
- Ensure environmental, safety, and health protocols are implemented and maintained.
