Responsibilities
- Conducts laboratory tests across various specialties following defined protocols and calculates test results when required
- Operates, calibrates, and maintains laboratory instruments and performs routine performance evaluations
- Identifies and resolves minor equipment issues, escalating to supervisors when necessary
- Prepares reagents and media by following standardized instructions
- Assesses the quality of reagents, media, and calibrators against established standards
- Executes quality control measures on tests, equipment, and materials; evaluates outcomes and applies corrective steps as needed
- Establishes performance criteria for new testing methods
- Carries out regular instrument maintenance and manages QC reagents and test kits
- Performs standard laboratory testing and participates in assay validation processes
- Verifies test results using knowledge of analytical techniques, scientific principles, and equipment functionality
- Monitors quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensures compliance with laboratory safety regulations and protocols
- Uses laboratory information systems or alternative methods to report patient data accurately and efficiently
- Reviews and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures
- Reports test findings in alignment with predefined procedures
- Supports the organization’s core values, leadership principles, and ethical standards
- Contributes to the quality management system by demonstrating strong work practices, following SOPs, completing required training, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping
Responsibilities
- Following prescribed procedures, performing any of the tests within any of the laboratory specialties, calculating the results of the tests performed as necessary
- Operating, calibrating, conducting performance checks, and maintaining any laboratory analyzers or equipment
- Recognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions; notifying management personnel when appropriate
- Preparing reagents or media from a prescribed procedure
- Evaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria
- Conducting established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluating results of quality control and implements corrective action when indicated
- Determining performance specifications for new methods
- Performs instrument maintenance, QC reagents and kits
- Performs routine testing including assay validations
- Confirming and verifying results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers
- Monitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programs
- Monitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations
- Utilizes laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results
- Review and follow Standard Operating Procedures
- Reporting test results conforming to established procedures
