Carry out standardized testing procedures using a range of laboratory equipment to evaluate chemical and biological samples. Operate distillation units, spray dryers, emulsion systems, and reaction vessels as part of ongoing process development efforts.
What You'll Do
- Run routine trials and analyses to verify raw materials and chemical batches meet required specifications
- Monitor and adjust control valves, stills, and recording instruments to maintain precise temperature, pressure, flow, and vacuum conditions
- Collect samples following established protocols and conduct organoleptic assessments to track product quality
- Log data accurately, prepare summary reports, and flag anomalies for further review
- Clean, calibrate, and maintain lab instruments to ensure consistent performance and measurement accuracy
- Follow written and verbal procedures with minimal supervision, adapting tasks as priorities shift
- Escalate technical issues to senior staff when necessary and assist in troubleshooting
Requirements
- Degree in a scientific discipline such as chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or physics, or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program
- Proven ability to maintain detailed, reliable records of test results and experimental conditions
- Strong focus on safety, including adherence to Good Laboratory Practices and risk assessment protocols
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a technical team
- Self-driven with solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Technical Stack
- Distillation and continuous/batch still systems
- Control valves and process monitoring instruments
- Laboratory testing and analytical equipment
- Standardized calibration and maintenance tools
