Etched is seeking a Technical Recruiter with expertise in supercomputing and machine learning to lead full-cycle recruiting for world-class technical talent. This role is critical in scaling a high-performance team building AI inference systems purpose-built for transformers, with opportunities to shape recruitment strategy in a fast-growing, high-impact environment.
What You'll Do
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process, from sourcing through offer, ensuring top-of-funnel quality and fast, high-signal decision-making
- Build strong partnerships with hiring managers and advocate for both candidates and company needs
- Attend AI meetups, technical conferences, and community events to proactively build pipelines
- Source candidates in unconventional places—e.g., GitHub repos, preprint authors on arXiv, contributors to Apache mailing lists, or insightful Twitter threads
- Facilitate structured interview loops, track candidate performance, and lead debriefs alongside hiring managers and leadership
- Manage offers and close processes in collaboration with hiring managers and the CEO
- Continuously improve our recruiting systems, workflows, and candidate experience
What We're Looking For
- Have 5+ years of experience recruiting technical talent in highly competitive markets
- Can evaluate both technical depth and cultural fit with nuance and clarity
- Are resourceful in finding exceptional candidates beyond the obvious platforms
- Thrive in ambiguity and enjoy building systems from scratch
- Care deeply about candidate experience and operational excellence
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the AI, semiconductor, or hardware engineering talent landscape
- A track record of hiring exceptional engineers in niche or emerging fields
Team & Environment
- Fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row)
- No boundaries between engineering and research
- All technical staff expected to contribute to both engineering and research as needed
