Work Arrangement

Remote-first environment with distributed team members in the US, Canada, South America, and Europe. Some core hours of overlap with clients and team members required. In-person company coworking weeks several times a year.

Team

Integrated teams of designers, engineers, delivery managers, and strategists. Collaboration across product, design, and development. Avoids staff augmentation.

What your days will look like, and what success will look like

  • The role has a dynamic allocation of time between sales support and billable work, evolving as both you and the practice mature in building intelligent products.
  • First 90 days: Focus primarily on learning the business, understanding how services are communicated, and engaging with early-stage opportunities and sales pursuits.
  • Project Involvement: You may lead client projects from discovery (typically 2-8 weeks) to implementation. You will be fully billable during these engagements.
  • For implementation projects, you may initially lead delivery with a co-tech lead if there is a need for you to transition out of the project sooner.
  • Long-term Balance: Primary focus on delivering pragmatic technical solutions with measurable outcomes. Additionally, you will participate in top-of-funnel activities, sales/demand, and thought leadership.
  • Billable expectations will be measured quarterly rather than weekly, with a target of up to full-time billable time per quarter once fully onboarded. Your schedule will likely include periods of no billability, followed by periods of focused billable work.
  • Success in this Role: Clients understand what they are buying and receive tangible value. You maintain a healthy billable target when staffed on client projects. The client solutions you implement can serve as case studies for future sales opportunities. You contribute to the growth of project revenue and capabilities. You empower the demand team to confidently discuss technical solutions with clients.
  • Within 1 month: Begin company onboarding, immerse in culture/values/history/client commitments, gain understanding of development process/tooling/frameworks/methodologies, learn from cross-functional teams, develop insight into full client experience, deepen understanding of employee-owner experience.
  • Within 3 months: Complete onboarding, participate in first TXI Quarterly.
  • Within 6 to 12 months: Complete comprehensive review with manager, establish balanced rhythm between client project delivery and internal initiatives, attend TXI in-person quarterly.
  • Within 1 to 2 years: Look back on projects and organizational changes inspired or directed.

Some reasons why you might like working with us

  • We have been recognized for both our internal employee experience and for delivering a trusted customer experience. We are intentional about the way we work and how we support both our team and our clients.
  • We help shape the work, not just execute it. TXIers are involved early, helping understand the real problem, question assumptions, and determine what is worth building. We stay close to the work through delivery.
  • We care about DEIB. To deliver the best solutions, we need as many bright and diverse minds in the room as possible, and we need to be able to learn from them once they are there.
  • We work in a variety of industries and encourage team members to explore new domains, solve different kinds of problems, and adopt new technologies. You will work across industrial products and services, logistics and distribution, rail and fleet operations, and select emerging industries like digital health and biopharma.
  • We work in integrated teams and avoid staff augmentation. Product, design, and development regularly collaborate, and we are all listening to the same users.
  • We are intentional about supporting each individual's growth. Every employee has a personal learning and development budget and a bi-weekly conversation with their manager about their progress. Pathways exist to unlock extra professional development resources and mini-sabbaticals.
  • We believe that wellness and a sustainable pace deliver the best outcomes. We commit to being dedicated partners to our clients for a sustainable 35 hours per week. We do not require regular travel or client on-site time. Team members enjoy flexible schedules with a remote-first working environment and discretionary time off.
  • We value transparency and open discussion. You will have a front-line view of the company's performance, risks and issues, finances, and budgets. We regularly connect with each other and discuss topics as a company to guide our path forward.
  • We build systems that matter. We advance the causes and goals of our partners and consistently deliver outcomes for them.

What We Make

  • For over two decades, we have partnered with clients across industries to research, design, and build products that make a real impact. Today, that increasingly means AI-powered workflows for companies running complex operations, especially those that make, move, or maintain things.
  • Examples of impact include: Transforming environmental monitoring from analog tools into a real-time platform trusted by 80,000 customers; Building mobile workflows that improve communication between dispatch teams and millions of truck drivers; Connecting scientific data so researchers can answer critical questions faster; Improving prediction of patient enrollment in global clinical trials for life-saving drugs through the integration of advanced analytics and digital innovation.
  • We support each other's interests—whether it is volunteering, organizing meetups, speaking at industry events, or learning new techniques and technologies. Company Brunch and Learns, Sticky Note Game, and regular practice meetings create space for sharing, learning, and professional development.
