Role Overview
We are looking for a Technical Architect specializing in ABAP to lead architectural design and technical strategy in SAP transformation projects. This position plays a key role in shaping migration paths to S/4HANA and leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for modernization, while also contributing to pre-sales engagements that define technical scope and feasibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable technical architectures using ABAP Objects, CDS Views, AMDP, and OData services.
- Lead custom code adaptation and optimization for HANA-centric environments, ensuring alignment with SAP Clean Core principles.
- Apply hands-on expertise in RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) and Fiori/UI5 to support modern SAP application development.
- Utilize SAP BTP, SAP Build, and Integration Suite to design extensible, cloud-native solutions.
- Support migration initiatives using tools such as SAP Readiness Check, ATC, Custom Code Migration Worklist, and SUM DMO.
- Advise on business data transition validation, cloud ALM, and SAP Testing strategies as part of transformation programs.
- Collaborate with sales teams to define technical proposals and demonstrate architectural viability during pre-sales cycles.
- Guide clients through complex Brownfield conversions with a focus on technical feasibility and long-term maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in SAP ABAP development, including at least 3 years focused on S/4HANA and SAP BTP projects.
- Proven track record in SAP ABAP certification; SAP Certified Development Specialist – ABAP for SAP HANA is required.
- Extensive experience with SAP BTP, SAP Build, and Integration Suite technologies.
- Strong grasp of SAP extensibility models and Clean Core guidelines.
- Direct experience in designing technical solutions for large-scale system conversions and data migrations.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with SAP BTP extension scenarios and third-party integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and SAP Transformation Center tools.
- Strong analytical and communication abilities, with leadership experience in technical teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation and process improvement.
