Playpower Labs is hiring a Teacher Co-Designer (Literacy Assessment — Fluency & Comprehension) to directly shape the next generation of our digital literacy product. Your classroom experience will be central to designing assessment tasks, rubrics, and teacher workflows that are both educationally sound and practically useful.

What You'll Do

Co-design assessment tasks and user flows for measuring oral reading fluency (ORF) and reading comprehension.
Define fluency administration protocols and create clear scoring guides and rubrics.
Conduct rapid pilot sessions with teachers and students, synthesize feedback, and iterate designs in tight cycles.
Align assessment items to relevant standards and Science of Reading principles, ensuring cultural relevance and accessibility.
Contribute to data quality through inter-rater reliability checks, item review logs, and annotation guidelines.

What We're Looking For

10+ years of teaching ELA/literacy, with experience at the middle school level or higher.
Proven experience administering fluency and comprehension assessments within the US education system.
