Responsibilities
- Prepares and runs machines that collate, label, or patch materials to enhance work in progress
- Examines job specifications to configure machines for tasks such as collating from web rolls, applying labels, or window patching based on customer needs
- Operates equipment capable of assembling, perforating, stapling, gluing, folding, or cutting paper or forms in sequence to create finished sets or apply films and labels
- Calculates measurements for distances, clearances, and alignments when integrating machine components
- Uses standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain collating machines for accurate and reliable operation
- Applies knowledge of collating and labeling systems to perform various folding, gluing, perforating, and cutting techniques on printed materials
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of machine setup, operational procedures, capabilities, and constraints for completing combined finishing tasks on printed products
