Responsibilities
- Lead the Windows engineering team in executing tasks, designing projects, and planning future technology initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their applicability for integration into the environment.
- Manage configuration and compliance across multiple Windows domains.
- Ensure server and system integrity by overseeing patch approval and deployment processes.
- Identify systems, services, and workflows suitable for cloud migration and develop automation scripts to support them.
- Engage with end users and assess third-party vendor solutions for potential adoption.
- Research and recommend hardware and software solutions, coordinate installations, and support backup and recovery operations.
- Monitor compliance with policies governing computing resource allocation.
- Automate routine Windows tasks using PowerShell scripting.
- Utilize automation tools to improve team productivity and operational efficiency.
- Supervise the development and execution of testing strategies, development environments, and documentation practices.
- Provide guidance and training to end users on system usage and best practices.
- Use VMWare to create and manage virtual machines and deliver virtual desktops to users.
- Be available to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, with limited advance notice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 10 years of experience in network engineering, or a combination of education, certifications, and relevant work experience.
- Deep knowledge of Active Directory architecture, administration, and advanced Group Policy implementation.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and experience with SCCM for software packaging and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare Horizon, and Citrix Virtual Desktop and Applications.
- Understanding of PKI and certificate lifecycle management within domain environments.
- Practical experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Centrify (Delinea) Server Suite and Privileged Access Server.
- Experience with Avamar backup solutions.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of iSCSI protocols and storage array management.
- Proficiency in networking concepts and infrastructure.
