Responsibilities
- Manage and support large-scale Linux systems, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms
- Create and sustain Bash automation scripts to streamline routine system administration tasks
- Use PowerShell scripting to automate Windows system operations and recurring administrative functions
- Enforce OS security baselines using industry standards such as STIGs, OSCAP, and CIS Benchmarks
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory services, including configuration and enforcement of Group Policy Objects
- Support SCCM operations and manage patch deployment through WSUS and PowerShell automation
- Identify, assess, and remediate system vulnerabilities using tools like Tenable.SC, SecurityCenter, and Nessus
- Monitor system performance, conduct tuning activities, and maintain high availability
- Diagnose and resolve complex server, infrastructure, and application-level problems
- Install, update, and maintain hardware, software, and operating systems across the environment
- Perform regular audits to verify adherence to security policies, configuration baselines, and compliance standards
- Produce and manage technical documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures
- Deploy system improvements to enhance stability, efficiency, and operational performance
- Collaborate with Help Desk, Engineering, Security, and Operations teams to advance organizational IT goals
