Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, planning, and rollout of virtualization platforms such as VMware and KVM
- Oversee full project lifecycles from design and deployment to ongoing operations
- Handle system administration tasks, forecast capacity needs, and allocate resources to meet business demands
- Maintain system uptime and resilience through backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness strategies
- Serve as a senior technical contact for resolving complex infrastructure issues and identifying root causes
- Establish and enforce infrastructure standards, governance policies, and monitoring practices
- Work with security teams to implement secure configurations, compliance controls, and threat monitoring
- Enable continuous integration and delivery through automation and integration of infrastructure systems
- Partner with development teams to enhance application performance and efficient resource use
- Coordinate with cloud service providers to uphold service level agreements and performance targets
- Monitor advancements in technology and lead initiatives to modernize infrastructure architecture
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience with virtualization platforms including VMware, KVM, and RHOVE
- Direct experience managing Linux and Windows Server environments
- Solid knowledge of networking components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
- Working knowledge of core internet services including DNS, DHCP, and IP address management
- Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS or comparable platforms
- Proficiency with REST APIs, scripting languages, and automated infrastructure provisioning
- Understanding of cloud-native application design and container orchestration with Kubernetes
- Background in applying security controls, compliance standards, and system hardening techniques
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities in complex technical environments
