About the Role
The ideal candidate will support and optimize server and network operations, implement security protocols, and troubleshoot technical issues in a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and server health across multiple environments
- Deploy, configure, and maintain operating systems and virtual machines
- Ensure network infrastructure remains stable and secure
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues promptly
- Maintain security controls and apply patches regularly
- Support cloud-based infrastructure and services
- Collaborate with development and operations teams on deployment pipelines
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Document system configurations and operational procedures
- Respond to incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization
- Administer email and collaboration platforms
- Enforce compliance with internal policies and security standards
- Perform regular system audits and vulnerability assessments
- Assist in capacity planning and infrastructure scaling
- Configure and maintain firewalls and intrusion detection systems
- Support identity and access management solutions
- Work with monitoring tools to proactively identify issues
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, RHCE, or AWS Certified SysOps
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments
- Background in IT security or compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
