Scout Motors is hiring a Supervisor, Logistics Supermarket

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach associates in picking, kitting, and line delivery tasks
  • Assign work based on production schedules and route priorities
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and compliance with standard work
  • Ensure accurate material picking and kitting per BOM and Kanban requirements
  • Maintain supermarket layout, inventory accuracy, and min/max levels
  • Oversee milk-run routes and timely delivery to Points-of-Use (POU)
  • Manage WMS/ERP transactions for material movements and kit issuance
  • Track KPIs (accuracy, OTD, inventory) and report daily performance
  • Conduct root cause analysis for shortages, mis-picks, and delivery delays
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization in handling, storage, and distribution of material
  • Look for ways to increase operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize costs
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to suggest improvements to workflows, processes, or equipment
  • Implement Lean or Six Sigma techniques to enhance efficiency
  • Address operational issues such as bottlenecks, delays, or inventory discrepancies
  • Use problem-solving skills to resolve issues quickly and ensure smooth operations
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Investigate and report incidents; implement preventive measures
  • Ensure team completion of required training and certifications

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in warehouse or logistics management, with a focus on material handling, inventory management, or assembly inhouse logistics line feeding in an automotive manufacturing industry
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to motivate staff and ensure high levels of performance in a fast-paced OEM environment
  • Experience with inventory management, including tracking materials, managing stock levels, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of warehouse materials
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives, particularly in logistics or warehousing, using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to enhance operational efficiency
  • Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Strong ability to lead, train, and manage a team, ensuring productivity and high morale
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP), and other relevant logistics software for inventory tracking and reporting
  • Familiarity with the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems
  • Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies, troubleshoot operational problems, and implement solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate effectively with team members, other departments, and external partners
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage logistics operations, track inventory, and oversee warehouse space efficiently
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail when managing inventory and handling materials
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and take proactive steps to address them before they impact operations
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the production environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety guidelines

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, Lean) are a plus
