Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and guide junior technicians while carrying out technical installation tasks
- Interpret audiovisual system drawings to properly install components and assemble equipment racks
- Annotate and revise technical drawings using both manual methods and Bluebeam Revu software
- Run, terminate, and label cabling systems while contributing to internal standards development
- Mount and secure equipment in the field using safe rigging practices and compliance with OSHA standards
- Maintain clear, respectful communication with internal teams, clients, and external partners
- Provide consistent updates on project status through text, email, and phone channels
- Record daily progress with photographs and written logs to ensure accountability
- Track inventory levels and document the movement of tools and equipment
- Demonstrate professionalism and positive engagement in all interactions
- Lead small teams on AV projects lasting up to four months in duration
- Support workforce planning by helping assess staffing needs
- Keep detailed records of client communications via email correspondence
- Own key project milestones and ensure timely delivery
- Diagnose and resolve issues in large-scale, complex audiovisual systems
- Use test equipment including multimeters, Fluke analyzers, TDRs, OTDRs, impedance meters, and video analyzers
- Conduct basic network validation using Wireshark, ping, and VLAN verification; adjust IP, DHCP, and DNS settings
- Take full responsibility for commissioning and testing systems valued up to $150,000
- Deliver user training sessions and produce easy-reference startup guides
- Integrate and configure audio DSPs, control processors, video scalers, and related AV hardware
- Trace signal paths and troubleshoot programming in DSPs and video processing units
- Program entry-level DSP and video processing platforms; test control systems and deploy updated code
- Identify connected devices on a network and resolve IP addressing and connectivity problems
- Plan and supervise the safe suspension of equipment weighing up to 300 pounds
