Responsibilities
- Design a 14 ft x 24 ft steel frame to support modular housing (15K–20K lbs)
- Ensure structure withstands lifting, transport, and installation stresses with ≤1” deflection
- Optimize designs for lightweight construction and fast fabrication
- Re-engineer an existing 12 ft x 40 ft steel chassis to reduce deflection
- Design and seal (PE) 14 ft x 24 ft concrete foundations
- Provide structural details for two-story modular units
- Design gable and pop-up roof systems suitable for transport and installation
- Develop weatherproof rooftop deck systems
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in structural engineering
- Proven experience designing steel and wood frame structures for real estate projects
- Hands-on experience preparing design submittals for construction in Texas
- Strong knowledge of load calculations for various materials
- Ability to convert designs into clear specifications and fabrication-ready plans
- Experience supporting metal fabrication requirements
Nice to Have
- Familiar with US residential and commercial projects
- Ability to read, revise, and publish architectural plans
- At least 5 years of experience working with or for a US-based architect
- Proficient in CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
