Responsibilities
- Direct business development activities for selected strategic new business efforts.
- Serve as Capture Manager for a critical strategic growth opportunity.
- Act as a key business partner for strategy and growth with the Advanced Programs Vice President and Strategic Mission Systems Business Area Vice Presidents.
- Maintain key business development contacts with current and potential customers.
- Evaluate and manage new business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.
- Oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs.
- Define vision, strategies, and tactics for the business area and assigned business development opportunities.
- Advise higher management on status or required actions for existing and potential business development opportunities.
- Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements; manage new business fund budgets.
- Provide leadership in planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing strategic business objectives.
- Develop strategic plans by identifying internal and external strategic issues affecting growth and profitability.
- Scan the environment for business opportunities and maintain surveillance over the market.
- Maintain awareness of competitor offerings and their applicability to strategic growth efforts.
- Develop and monitor profitability, productivity, and growth targets.
- Drive analysis of market data to identify trends and opportunities, and develop strategic direction from market information.
- Direct the development of short- and long-range objectives and recommend goals to higher management.
- Drive the long-range strategic plan and annual strategic planning process.
- Have overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
Requirements
- Active DoD TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Proven, relevant, and current acquisition or operational experience with US Strategic Command and Undersea Warfare communities is strongly desired.
- Technical background in undersea acoustic sensors and systems.
- Both strategic and tactical capabilities.
- Substantial leadership in customer relationship management and market analysis.
- Ability to work independently.
- Deep and broad experience in defining and executing successful strategies to grow business.
- Able to articulate examples of identifying, pursuing, and winning large capture efforts in areas related to Strategic Deterrence or Undersea Warfare programs.
- Broad market awareness, including budgets, customer priorities, mission gaps, and market dynamics.
- Tremendous knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices.
- Ability to thrive in a highly interactive team environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Recognized ability to build relationships with senior-level customers and internal counterparts.
- Works well under pressure with the ability to simultaneously deliver on multiple tasks or priorities.
- Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
- Expected to make final decisions in conjunction with the Executive Team on business, operational, or programmatic matters.
- Leads effective achievement of objectives.
- Participates in company development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
- Ensures budgets and schedules meet company requirements.
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company and the market.
- Regularly interacts with executives and major customers.
- Conducts business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives.
- Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers, partners, or management, or attempting to influence senior-level leaders on matters of significance to the organization.
- Exerts considerable influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
- Performance metrics visible at the GDMS and line of business level.

- Position can be located from our Pittsfield or Dedham, MA, Greensboro, NC, Chantilly or Manassas, VA or Washington DC offices.
- Remote or Hybrid schedules could be considered.
- Role will involve significant domestic travel up to 50% of the time.
- Candidates must be willing and able to travel in support of customer and distributed team engagement.
