The Strategic Community Manager is the external face of Workato's AI Lab in Singapore. You will own relationships across government, academia, and industry, translating them into concrete outcomes: pipeline, talent, co-innovation projects, and market visibility. This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, working directly with the AI Lab and the rest of the Singapore team.
In this role, you will also be responsible to:
Government Engagement
- Own the operational relationship with EDB, GovTech, and IMDA on behalf of the AI Lab. You will track grant deliverables, coordinate milestone reporting, and proactively identify new programs the lab can participate in. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for these projects, managing onboarding and engagement for pilot companies through the program.
- Example activities:
- Coordinating the rollout of the Agentic Enterprise program across 10 pilot companies, including scheduling CEO pitches and tracking sign-ups
- Preparing briefing documents and follow-up materials for meetings with EDB
- Monitoring grant compliance requirements including headcount classification and expenditure thresholds
Academia Partnerships
- Build and sustain structured partnerships with institutions to create a continuous pipeline of student talent and collaborative projects. You will work with faculty and program coordinators to embed Workato AI Lab problems into coursework and internship programs.
- Example activities:
- Coordinating student hackathons centered on MCP and agentic workflows, generating use cases that can feed into customer conversations
- Working with the NUS Enterprise (N-House and NOC program) and SUTD’s Design AI program to build a sustainable pipeline of candidates for the AI Lab.
Industry Events & Community Engagement
- Plan and execute events that establish the AI Lab as a thought leader and community anchor in Singapore's AI ecosystem. You will manage end-to-end event logistics while ensuring each event serves a clear commercial or talent objective.
- Example activities:
- Coordinating the lab's presence at conferences (SuperAI Singapore, ATxEnterprise, MCP Conference Singapore), including speaker submissions and content preparation
- Supporting customer-facing AI workshops and hackathons
Cross-functional Coordination
- Act as the connective tissue between the AI Lab and internal teams — GTM, CSM, marketing, and P&E — ensuring community activities feed directly into commercial and product outcomes.
- Example activities:
- Briefing the Singapore GTM team on conversations and signals from EDB pilot company engagements
- Coordinating with the Head of AI Lab on speaker content and messaging for external appearances
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in ecosystem development, partnerships, community management, or a related field — ideally within a tech company, government agency, or startup ecosystem
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders across public and private sectors
- Based in Singapore; familiarity with the local government and university ecosystem is a strong advantage
Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to run multiple programs simultaneously without losing attention to detail
- Genuine interest in AI and enterprise technology — you don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be curious enough to hold substantive conversations with technical audiences and policymakers alike
