DISH is hiring a Staff VMware Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership by guiding junior engineers and onboarding new team members while solving complex design and programming challenges
  • Design and implement resilient VMware environments that ensure high availability and fault tolerance
  • Define and enforce standards for VMware infrastructure development, performance tuning, deployment, maintenance, and automation, including backup and upgrade procedures
  • Monitor system capacity and proactively suggest software or architectural improvements to prevent performance bottlenecks
  • Create automated incident response workflows to reduce the need for manual troubleshooting
  • Track and report key system reliability metrics such as MTBF and MTTR to stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Prioritize and resolve critical issues, participating in a shared on-call rotation that includes weekend coverage
