Responsibilities
- Develop foundational components of the charting engine, including rendering layers, hit detection, text layout, and core features like drawing tools and mathematical indicators.
- Lead the design and evolution of a framework-independent core library, defining a stable public API consumed by React, React Native, and other integrations.
- Create and sustain the React wrapper that translates the core API into native React components, hooks, and lifecycle-compatible interfaces, with future expansion to React Native.
- Make key decisions on canvas composition, layering strategies, and the division of work between main and worker threads.
- Enforce strict performance benchmarks for rendering, targeting consistent 60fps and responsive interaction under live data streams.
- Construct the interface that connects the real-time market data pipeline to the charting engine.
- Ensure reliable performance and visual consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Implement rigorous visual testing practices, including pixel comparison, replay-based validation, and golden image regression testing.
- Lead architectural discussions and RFC processes for the charting library, aligning cross-platform teams without formal authority.
- Guide team engineers through code and design reviews, pair programming, and technical mentorship.
- Prioritize and manage technical debt in alignment with long-term product goals and user requirements.
- Clearly convey technical strategies, trade-offs, and risks to both engineering teams and platform leadership.
