About the Role

Join a core backend reliability team responsible for maintaining 99.99% system availability by building foundational tools, components, and safeguards that support engineering at scale. In this role, you will design and implement critical reliability solutions that directly influence system resilience, performance, and recovery.

Responsibilities

Develop and sustain essential reliability systems, including HTTP rate limiters, internal database schema migration utilities, circuit breakers, and distributed caching with Redis.
Diagnose and resolve intricate production problems, enhance PostgreSQL efficiency, and maintain performance and stability in distributed systems under heavy load.
Lead initial analysis during major production outages by identifying probable root causes, evaluating impact, and recommending mitigation strategies. Owning teams implement long-term fixes based on your insights.
Build scalable, reusable frameworks and tools that empower engineering teams to develop more robust and fault-tolerant services.
Utilize AI-driven development tools and coding assistants to speed up development cycles, evaluate system architectures, and automate repetitive or high-risk tasks.
Promote and advance reliability best practices across engineering through knowledge sharing, design reviews, and establishing strong technical standards.

This internal task force works closely with product and platform teams, fostering collaboration with engineers who value autonomy, deep technical discourse, and disciplined engineering practices. The culture emphasizes ownership, with engineers trusted to manage time, make architectural decisions, and lead initiatives independently.
