Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of critical Kubernetes platform subsystems, including cluster networking, storage, workload identity, and certificate management.
- Translate ambiguous platform challenges into concrete technical designs, implementation plans, and production-ready software with minimal external guidance.
- Collaborate on the architectural design of distributed applications, ensuring proper runtime behavior and isolation across shared infrastructure.
- Focus primarily on hands-on coding, including developing controllers, operators, infrastructure automation scripts, and backend platform services.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to uphold software quality and consistency across the codebase.
- Ensure systems are operationally robust by defining SLOs, analyzing failure scenarios, planning upgrades, and supporting on-call responsibilities for owned components.
- Work closely with senior and principal engineers to align technical execution with broader platform architecture goals.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Support platform operations in regulated industries, incorporating compliance requirements such as FedRAMP into system design decisions.
