Jobgether is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Backend to lead the design, development, and operation of large-scale, high-performance distributed systems. You will work on critical infrastructure supporting billions of requests daily in a remote, collaborative, high-impact environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, implementation, and operation of backend infrastructure, including load balancing and CDN systems.
- Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Mentor and coach engineers, providing technical guidance and promoting best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Drive system reliability, performance, and operational excellence, monitoring metrics and optimizing systems.
- Contribute to platform improvements, internal tools, and processes that enhance engineering efficiency.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment focused on growth, learning, and excellence.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure in a cloud environment.
- Proficiency in Java, C#, Go, C++, or Rust (Java preferred).
- Strong communication and leadership skills, including experience mentoring engineers.
- Ability to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Demonstrated track record of building highly performant, reliable, and scalable backend systems.
- Commitment to fostering diversity, inclusion, and belonging in engineering teams.
- Passion for learning and adopting new technologies as needed.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with CDNs (e.g., Cloudflare, CloudFront) and Load Balancers (e.g., NGINX, Envoy).
- Experience building internal platforms and collaborating with feature teams.
