TE Connectivity seeks a Staff Software Engineer to serve as the embedded firmware and software expert for high-speed cable assemblies used in data center and wireless infrastructure connectivity. You will independently lead the embedded firmware design, validation, and testing for our high-speed products throughout the full development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Act as the subject matter expert in embedded firmware design, testing, and validation throughout product development cycles.
- Establish software design performance and functional requirements for new products.
- Develop product code for high-speed cable assemblies from conception to manufacturing.
- Create actionable recommendations based on design reviews and simulation results.
- Make data-driven decisions about product functionality and areas for improvement.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience in an embedded engineering role.
- Expertise with embedded systems and ANSI C.
- Expertise with I2C, SPI, ADC’s, DAC’s, and NOR Flash.
- Expertise with GIT version control systems (Gitlab, Github, or Bitbucket).
- Experience with component selection, schematic review, testing, and validation of firmware.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret lab data, identify issues, and provide solutions.
- Experience in project leadership across design, development, and manufacturing teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a global environment, accommodating varying time zones, with fluency in English for collaboration across geographies.
- High motivation, quick learning ability, and capacity to work independently.
Nice to Have
- A Master’s degree.
- Familiarity with the CMIS (Common Management Interface Specification).
- Familiarity with SFF/IEEE specifications for high-speed cable assemblies.
- Familiarity with STM32 micro controllers.
- Familiarity with requirements-based design and validation.
- Familiarity with AGILE methodologies.
- Familiarity with data center topology, switches, NIC’s, and cables (AEC, AOC, ACC, DAC).
- Familiarity with Python, C#, or V.B.
- Six Sigma methodologies or other strong data analytics background.
