Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and ongoing development of complex, distributed systems that support core platform features such as live auctions, payments, search, recommendations, and trust and safety.
- Take ownership of open-ended, high-impact technical challenges from concept through to deployment, defining long-term system direction.
- Serve as technical lead on cross-functional initiatives, aligning multiple engineering teams without direct managerial authority.
- Make strategic decisions that balance speed of delivery with code quality and system scalability.
- Improve engineering standards through active participation in design reviews, mentoring engineers, and contributing directly to critical codebases.
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize technology investments that enhance system reliability, performance, and development efficiency.
- Support platform scalability during a period of aggressive growth, ensuring systems remain robust as the company expands internationally.
