Responsibilities
- Manage the ongoing performance, setup, and enhancement of the company's enterprise security systems, including endpoint detection and response, mobile device management, security information and event management, data loss prevention, identity and access management, DNS protection, email security, and public key infrastructure, ensuring proper tuning, policy enforcement, and reliable threat detection.
- Create and improve detection rules, correlation methods, and alerting policies to minimize false positives while maintaining strong protection against active threats.
- Proactively search for threats within security data by developing hypotheses, analyzing logs, and examining irregularities before they lead to security events.
- Act as the primary internal authority on enterprise security tools, providing support for complex technical issues, misconfigurations, and detection shortcomings.
- Join the team’s on-call schedule, leading in-depth analysis of security alerts and incidents, including triage, containment, and root cause determination.
- Regularly assess and verify that security controls are correctly configured and actively fulfilling their intended purpose, avoiding passive deployment.
- Document and maintain operational procedures, detection logic, and system configurations to ensure team consistency and knowledge sharing.
