Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of a key frontend domain — spanning mobile and web — across the full product lifecycle, from shaping requirements through to delivery, monitoring and ownership.
- Drive the architecture of our frontend monorepo, making decisions that improve efficiency, performance and code reuse across iOS, Android, Web and Desktop.
- Lead a compact, autonomous, cross-functional team with short release cycles. Identify and develop your teammates' strengths through active mentorship and coaching.
- Develop solutions by taking a holistic approach to problem-solving — understanding business goals, UX constraints, platform limitations and the underlying architecture.
- Build for performance, accessibility and resilience — your code reaches millions of users and must perform reliably across a wide range of devices and conditions.
- Take the initiative to identify and drive improvements in product and engineering, raising the quality bar across the frontend organisation.
Requirements
- Experience leading the development and release of a complex, high-demand client-facing frontend product.
- Experience leading, coaching and mentoring software engineers toward delivering high-quality software.
- Deep expertise in TypeScript and React Native (or React/Next.js).
- Advanced knowledge of state management patterns and solutions — TanStack Query, Zustand, Redux/RTK, or similar.
- Strong understanding of cross-platform frontend issues such as performance optimisation, rendering, animations, and offline behaviour.
- Experience designing scalable frontend solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with monorepo structures and shared component systems.
- Experience with native mobile development (Swift/Kotlin).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling at scale.
- Experience with Reanimated/RNGH for complex animation and gesture handling.
- Experience with WebSockets or other real-time data patterns.
- A strong product mindset that can seamlessly bridge the UX design with technical reality.
