CVS Health is looking for a Staff Pharmacist to be a cornerstone of patient care and pharmacy operations. In this role, you will manage the pharmacy as the proxy for the Pharmacy Manager, ensuring patients receive safe, effective medication therapy and clinical services.
What You'll Do
- Help manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Oversee the pharmacy as proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts, including coaching team members and providing performance feedback.
- Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance and medication issues.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
- Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching team on best practices, especially for cold chain products.
- Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; support writing the pharmacy schedule if directed.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through required trainings and CMEs; actively seek knowledge expansion.
- Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing, prescribing) where permissible.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies.
What We're Looking For
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over time and pivot quickly between tasks.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.

- Control precision; quickly adjust machines to exact positions.
- Stoop to a considerable degree, using lower extremities and back muscles.
- Close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing computer terminal, reading, inspecting small parts.
- Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.; frequently lift up to 10 lbs.; consistently exert negligible force.
- Express or exchange ideas by spoken word; convey detailed instructions accurately.
- Receive detailed information through oral communication.
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
