Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of system architecture and foundational platform components.
- Own the creation of core AI workflow systems, orchestration frameworks, and shared software development kits that enable smart healthcare solutions.
- Develop robust, scalable infrastructure for managing large language model workflows, data grounding, performance evaluation, and agent-based interactions.
- Design reusable technical frameworks and architectural patterns for company-wide adoption by engineering teams.
- Drive long-term technical projects and help transition experimental AI research into production-ready systems.
- Collaborate with product teams across multiple business areas to define and deliver AI-driven features.
- Work with Pharmacy, E-commerce, Care, and Operations teams to implement AI capabilities in both customer-facing and internal tools.
- Help shape product direction by turning high-level concepts into actionable technical roadmaps.
- Enable rapid feature delivery through iterative, high-velocity development cycles.
- Ensure AI-powered user experiences meet standards for speed, stability, and ease of use.
- Advocate for patient safety, data privacy, and clinical accuracy in all AI systems.
- Build evaluation tools and monitoring systems to track AI behavior, factual grounding, safety, and output quality.
- Define technical safeguards and design patterns that comply with HIPAA, security-by-design, and privacy-first standards.
- Partner with clinical, legal, and AI safety teams to ensure systems are appropriate and trustworthy for healthcare contexts.
- Promote high standards of engineering quality and best practices across the organization.
- Mentor engineers and support the growth of strong technical culture within AI teams.
- Lead technical design reviews and contribute to cross-team architectural governance.
- Enhance developer productivity by improving tools and eliminating platform-level inefficiencies.
- Raise quality expectations by advocating for clear standards in reliability, monitoring, testing, and rapid iteration.
- Develop end-to-end features and infrastructure using full-stack technologies.
- Use TypeScript with AWS, Cloudflare Workers, and React/Next.js, and Python with Databricks, orchestration tools, and evaluation systems.
- Integrate and assess large language models and machine learning systems via a centralized AI gateway.
- Develop secure APIs and integrations connecting to critical domains such as electronic health records, pharmacy, payments, orders, and care services.
- Contribute to shared code libraries that standardize data schemas, tool interfaces, and developer workflows.
