Extreme Networks seeks a Staff Engineer to contribute deep networking and embedded software expertise. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and delivering complete components and modules while tackling complex technical challenges within a dynamic, multi-site team environment.
What You'll Do
- Implement and handle the complete delivery of owned components and modules.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues like memory leaks and performance bottlenecks.
- Work productively in flexible and dynamic work environments.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-site project teams.
What We're Looking For
- 8-13 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong understanding of networking data plane forwarding concepts, including L2, L3, VXLAN, MCT, ACL, and QOS.
- Strong understanding of routing algorithms, data structures, and control plane networking concepts.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and embedded software development.
- Excellent programming knowledge in C.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience troubleshooting memory leaks and performance bottlenecks.
- Experience working successfully with multi-site project teams.
- Ability to learn on the job and tackle new challenges.
- Ability to be productive in flexible and dynamic work environments.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience programming BCM-based XGS & DNX family of chipsets.
- Exposure to GO and microservices architecture.
