Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle development of new camera platforms targeting emerging markets, working closely with hardware and product teams to shape early design decisions and component selection.
- Define and execute the firmware roadmap, implementing major architectural upgrades to enable advanced capabilities across the entire software stack.
- Develop performance-critical features across multiple layers, including bare-metal microcontroller code, secure boot processes, Linux kernel tuning, and concurrent user-space applications.
- Solve complex system-level problems such as race conditions, memory corruption, and hardware-software timing anomalies that manifest only at massive scale.
- Balance competing demands including security enforcement, performance optimization, power consumption, and comprehensive fleet monitoring.
- Collaborate with computer vision, streaming, and storage teams to build tightly integrated edge computing features that advance real-time processing capabilities.
- Promote a reliability-first mindset across engineering, designing deployment and monitoring systems to maintain continuous uptime for over 1.5 million devices.
