Responsibilities
- Design high-level electronic systems while also managing detailed aspects of printed circuit board assembly development and component choices.
- Serve as technical lead on engineering projects and provide guidance to both junior and experienced engineers.
- Work closely with executive leadership, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to support strategic planning and execution.
- Introduce novel technologies, testing methodologies, and engineering processes to advance electrical design capabilities.
- Establish, model, and validate requirements for electronic and electrical systems.
- Create, simulate, build, and verify multi-layer printed circuit boards with mixed-signal functionality.
- Quickly prototype electrical systems at both the board and system levels.
- Produce technical documentation including schematics, block diagrams, test procedures, and manufacturing drawings.
- Develop hardware that complies with functional safety standards using redundancy, fail-safe designs, and diagnostic functions.
- Perform power consumption and performance evaluations to enhance efficiency and thermal performance.
- Create and carry out thorough validation and testing strategies, design test equipment, and verify adherence to technical and regulatory requirements such as FCC, CE, and UL.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations for hardware and firmware issues.
- Champion best practices in signal integrity, power integrity, electromagnetic compatibility, and design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Oversee relationships with third-party suppliers, contract manufacturers, and external design partners.
