Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine distributed data platforms using tools such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, and Delta Lake, ensuring resilience, scalability, and optimal performance for both streaming and batch operations.
- Develop and manage high-volume, low-latency data pipelines that support real-time analytics, machine learning features, and intelligent product functionality.
- Convert business needs into durable and scalable data architectures, incorporating sound practices in data modeling, workflow orchestration, governance, and system monitoring.
- Produce clean, maintainable code and establish engineering standards that elevate team-wide software quality through active code reviews and mentorship.
- Integrate conventional machine learning systems with emerging AI-driven decision frameworks, supporting the shift toward agent-based or Model Context Protocol (MCP)-enabled workflows.
- Partner across Product, AI, and Engineering teams to advance platform usage, guide architectural decisions, and enable new technical capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or software development.
- Proven track record in developing and scaling distributed systems and data infrastructure.
- Extensive hands-on experience with technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, or comparable platforms.
- Strong understanding of streaming data architectures, real-time processing, and event-driven design patterns.
- Solid background in software engineering principles including design patterns, testing, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and code quality.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Scala, Java, or Python.
- Advanced skills in SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization for analytical and transactional databases.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or modern AI infrastructure frameworks.
- Familiarity with ML Ops tools, feature stores, and model deployment ecosystems.
- Knowledge of data governance, observability tooling, and scalable access control mechanisms such as RBAC or RLS.
