Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of finance data systems, from source ingestion to reporting layers, ensuring complete and documented data lineage across all stages.
- Establish and maintain data modeling standards for financial accuracy, including period closure rules, multi-entity consolidation, revenue recognition, and audit compliance.
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines for trading activity, asset balances, profit and loss, and cost accounting across multiple legal entities and regions.
- Make independent architectural decisions and clearly communicate trade-offs to both technical teams and non-technical finance partners.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance PMO, and Treasury to deliver timely, audit-ready datasets for month-end close and executive financial reporting.
- Guarantee traceability of all financial metrics to their original source systems, with full transparency into transformation logic.
- Build and maintain the foundational data infrastructure supporting regulatory reporting and long-term financial data maturity.
- Develop proactive data quality frameworks with built-in reconciliation, SLA tracking, and anomaly detection to prevent issues before they occur.
- Take ownership of incident response for critical finance data pipeline failures, leading post-mortems and implementing lasting solutions.
- Define financial data correctness in collaboration with Accounting and uphold quality standards despite delivery timelines.
- Champion the integration of AI-assisted engineering practices, including LLM-powered development and intelligent reporting.
- Evaluate and deploy AI tools in production environments based on proven performance, not just experimental demos.
- Set the standard for an AI-native finance data team and support the growth of less experienced engineers.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex questions within the finance data domain.
- Mentor engineers by breaking down complex financial concepts into teachable patterns and structured learning paths.
- Represent finance data interests in cross-functional architecture discussions, planning sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
- Create durable documentation including data dictionaries, pipeline specifications, and onboarding materials to preserve institutional knowledge.
