About the Role
The Staff Data Engineer will lead the development and optimization of data infrastructure, enabling scalable analytics and machine learning capabilities. This role involves technical leadership, system design, and close collaboration across teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data pipelines for large-scale datasets
- Collaborate with analytics and machine learning teams to understand data needs
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across systems
- Develop and maintain ETL workflows with monitoring and alerting
- Support governance and data quality initiatives
- Evaluate and integrate new data technologies and frameworks
- Contribute to architectural decisions for data infrastructure
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical projects
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability
- Work with cross-functional teams to define data requirements
- Implement data lineage and metadata tracking
- Enforce security and compliance standards for sensitive data
- Automate operational tasks to improve team efficiency
- Participate in code reviews and system design discussions
- Drive best practices in data engineering and platform scalability
