Responsibilities
- Architect and design high-performance, scalable database solutions with a focus on time-series, OLAP, and OLTP systems.
- Assess and select suitable SQL and NoSQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, TimeScale, Cassandra, Apache Druid, and Apache Pin0t according to project needs.
- Create efficient data models that support diverse querying and data manipulation patterns.
- Build, refine, and sustain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing methods to enhance performance.
- Deploy and manage time-series databases capable of handling high-volume data ingestion and fast query responses.
- Tune OLAP and OLTP databases for speed, scalability, and reliability to minimize latency in analytical and transactional processing.
- Continuously monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and storage efficiency.
- Partner with cloud backend teams to build ETL pipelines that efficiently transfer and transform data across storage platforms.
- Apply data partitioning, sharding, and replication techniques to ensure system availability and growth capacity.
- Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and protection across all database environments.
- Collaborate with AI specialists, software developers, and product leads to define data needs and implement effective solutions.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers in database design and management best practices.
- Lead efforts to improve database tools, technologies, and operational processes over time.
- Keep current with emerging trends in database systems, especially in time-series and analytical transaction processing.
- Test and assess new database tools and platforms to strengthen data infrastructure.
- Help build internal frameworks and utilities that streamline database development and operations.
