Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for backend components.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements, technical specifications, and success metrics, delivering high-quality software.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs, continuously improving performance, scalability, and security.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
- Stay current with industry trends and proactively suggest improvements and new features.
- Implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for robust and reliable releases.
- Work with Product and Customer Success teams to refine business requirements and system designs.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Engage with the product and users, offering input and opinions on how things should be done and why.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of professional backend software development experience.
- Strong understanding of TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of Node.js.
- Strong understanding of messaging queues (e.g., AWS SQS).
- Strong understanding of MongoDB.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to engage with customers and understand their needs.
Nice to Have
- Full stack knowledge.
- Experience with Python (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).
- Familiarity with Airflow.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with NestJS.
- Experience in AI.

Hybrid — Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York

- Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles / San Francisco / New York, working Tuesday - Thursday in office. We will hire remote in the US / Canada for extraordinary candidates.
