Responsibilities
- Create Android applications and SDKs for medical technology, following Android platform standards and best practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new product features.
- Write automated unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability and stability.
- Perform comprehensive testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to detect and fix software issues.
- Take part in design, code, and test case reviews, offering constructive feedback to uphold code quality.
- Collaborate with software testing teams to support the delivery of high-quality, validated products.
- Produce documentation for app and SDK releases, including release notes, sample applications, and user guides.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance development processes and product capabilities.
- Optimize Android applications for reliability, performance, memory efficiency, power consumption, and security in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Over 10 years of professional Android app development experience with expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- At least one year of experience in a leadership or technical mentorship role.
- Demonstrated success in building and shipping high-quality Android applications.
- In-depth understanding of Android system internals, including the Bluetooth stack, BLE peripheral integration, offline data storage, threading models, and performance optimization.
- Commitment to collaborative problem-solving, thoughtful design, and delivering robust software solutions.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and experience with continuous integration workflows.
- Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs, parsing data, and using third-party libraries.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with feature flagging platforms like Launch Darkly and analytics tools such as Firebase Crashlytics or DataDog.
- Prior experience in healthcare technology or the medical device industry.
