Renesas Electronics is hiring a Staff AMS Verification Engineer

About the Role

This role involves leading the verification of analog and mixed-signal components within complex semiconductor devices, ensuring functional correctness and reliability through rigorous simulation, modeling, and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of verification plans for analog and mixed-signal circuits
  • Develop and maintain testbenches using industry-standard simulation tools
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure comprehensive coverage of functional requirements
  • Define and track verification metrics to ensure closure
  • Apply assertion-based verification techniques to validate circuit behavior
  • Work closely with systems and software teams to align verification with product requirements
  • Support silicon bring-up and debug activities with lab validation teams
  • Utilize scripting languages to automate verification tasks
  • Ensure compliance with functional safety standards where applicable
  • Mentor junior engineers in verification best practices and methodologies
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to architectural decisions
  • Integrate verification environments across multiple design blocks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve simulation and testbench issues
  • Maintain documentation for verification plans and results
  • Stay current with advancements in AMS verification tools and techniques
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal verification flows and processes
  • Interface with external partners on joint development efforts
  • Support pre-silicon modeling and post-silicon correlation
  • Validate mixed-signal IP blocks within larger SoC contexts
  • Ensure timing and signal integrity requirements are met in verification
  • Apply statistical and corner-case analysis to improve test coverage
  • Work with layout teams to assess impact of parasitics on circuit behavior
  • Develop models for analog components used in system-level simulations
  • Verify power management circuits under real-world operating conditions
  • Ensure electromagnetic compatibility in high-speed analog designs
