Maple is hiring a Staff AI Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Establish guidelines, assessment methods, and monitoring practices to maintain high quality, safety, and technical integrity of AI features in the product
  • Influence decisions around model selection, provider usage, and cost management to ensure sustainable economics as AI scales
  • Develop evaluation frameworks, agent execution designs, and architectural blueprints for teams building and maintaining AI-powered features
  • Guide and support engineering teams across the organization to independently implement AI solutions in line with established standards
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams as a senior technical advisor during the development of agentic capabilities
  • Work with Security, Privacy, Legal, and Clinical stakeholders to define AI governance policies, including review protocols, PHI handling rules, and escalation procedures
  • Communicate the business impact of technical AI decisions—covering cost, clinical efficiency, patient experience, and risk—to executive and cross-functional audiences
