About the Role
The Staff Accountant will handle day-to-day financial transactions, prepare reports, and assist in audits while ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
- Support internal and external audit procedures with documentation
- Track and report on project-related costs and expenditures
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable activities
- Ensure timely tax filings and regulatory compliance
- Analyze financial variances and investigate discrepancies
- Collaborate with project teams to verify financial data
- Implement and follow internal control procedures
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities
- Manage fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
- Coordinate with external partners during audit periods
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation
- Respond to financial inquiries from management
- Support compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
- Assist in cash flow reporting and analysis
- Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions
