Databricks is hiring a Sr. Staff Software Engineer - Managed Tables

We are looking for a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to join our Managed Tables team at Databricks. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that powers our customers' data and AI workloads. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our users. The ideal candidate has a strong background in distributed systems, data engineering, and software development, with a passion for solving complex technical challenges. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement scalable and reliable data infrastructure components. - Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to define requirements and deliver solutions. - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth. Requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. - 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on distributed systems and data infrastructure. - Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Scala, or Python. - Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar. - Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-performance systems. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake architectures. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. - Contributions to open-source projects.
