Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle delivery of screening engine initiatives, from architecture to deployment and ongoing monitoring
- Anticipate technical and operational obstacles and resolve them independently and proactively
- Produce maintainable, thoroughly tested, and peer-reviewed code while promoting strong engineering standards across the team
- Help shape the long-term technical and product strategy for sanctions, PEP, and adverse media detection
- Leverage data analysis and performance benchmarks to refine matching algorithms for higher accuracy and precision
- Make balanced decisions that consider risk mitigation, system scalability, business growth, and user impact
- Design and maintain resilient, high-performance distributed systems capable of withstanding regulatory audits
- Enhance the stability, observability, and long-term maintainability of current systems, not just develop new features
- Make deliberate choices in database modeling, query efficiency, and schema management across SQL and NoSQL platforms
- Take an active role in code reviews, ensuring high code quality and providing actionable, constructive input
- Support team growth through mentorship, onboarding, and consistent knowledge sharing
- Work closely with compliance, risk, and operations teams to address complex, cross-functional challenges
