RecargaPay is looking for a Sr Software Engineer (Account Management) to play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable systems that support our financial services. You will ensure seamless operations and an excellent user experience by implementing secure, reliable solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
What You'll Do
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using best software development practices.
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
- Propose initial technical implementations that support architectural changes to solve scaling and performance problems.
- Work with version control using GitHub, conflict resolution, and automation of continuous integration processes.
- Create and maintain software documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Academic background oriented toward computer science, engineering, or software development disciplines.
- Experience in hands-on engineering roles dealing with medium domains of medium/high complexity.
- A solid understanding of how web applications work, including security, session management, and best development practices.
- Knowledge of relational database systems and Object Oriented Programming.
- Knowledge in Domain Driven Design.
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly, and master diverse web technologies.
- Proven ability to design complex distributed applications built for high performance and throughput while being scalable and reliable.
- Development experience using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS.
- Experience with asynchronous programming.
- Demonstrated experience profiling and performance tuning Java applications, and using monitoring tools for production application monitoring.
- Practical experience applying AI frameworks in development projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive mindset with a sense of ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality, user-centric experiences.
- Ability to mentor peers, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Nice to Have
- Experience in projects in the area of payments, open finance, among others.
- Knowledge of Microservice Architecture.
- Practical familiarity with one or more core financial domains such as lending, payments, credit cards, open finance, fraud prevention, merchant acquiring, or investment services, along with an understanding of their fundamental workflows and business drivers.
- Experience in how these domains intersect to influence revenue, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
- Applied knowledge to deliver solutions such as loan-origination engines; scalable payment-processing platforms; secure open-finance interfaces; automated fraud-detection pipelines; or financial reporting and reconciliation engines.
- Ability to translate complex compliance mandates into resilient, high-performance systems without compromising user experience.
