Responsibilities
- Define and lead the end-to-end product strategy for core commerce operations including orders, subscriptions, payments, inventory, fulfillment, taxation, discounts, and gift cards, ensuring each component functions as a modular, dependable building block for the broader platform.
- Design and manage the complete subscription lifecycle, supporting diverse billing models such as recurring charges, usage-based pricing, tiered plans, and trial periods, while enabling seamless upgrades, downgrades, pauses, and dunning processes.
- Establish the internal ledger and accounting framework that serves as the definitive record for all financial transactions, built to support embedded accounting capabilities and enable businesses to manage their books directly within the platform.
- Create integration pathways for external accounting systems, ensuring accurate field mapping, reliable reconciliation, and fully automated data synchronization without manual input.
- Own the end-to-end order lifecycle, including creation, modification, fulfillment, partial shipments, returns, and cancellations, designing robust state management and workflows for merchants across all commerce channels.
- Support flexible operational models by enabling optional and modular components for orders, invoices, payments, and fulfillment, allowing businesses to operate at varying levels of complexity without friction.
- Lead the development of the inventory system, managing stock tracking, reservations, adjustments, multi-location support, and low-stock alerts to ensure accurate availability across all commerce touchpoints.
- Own the product direction for tax calculation, tax code alignment, and regulatory compliance across multiple regions and transaction types, ensuring accuracy as the platform scales internationally.
- Build and maintain the infrastructure for coupons, promotions, and gift cards, including rule creation, validation logic, issuance, redemption, and balance management, while preserving financial integrity.
- Define and manage the public API suite used by third-party developers, agencies, and marketplace partners, ensuring it is reliable, versioned, well-documented, and capable of supporting diverse integration scenarios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product information management, document services, onboarding, and payments to align dependencies and ensure operational events trigger correct downstream behaviors.
