About the Role
The Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will lead the design and implementation of financial strategies, drive forecasting accuracy, and deliver insights that inform executive decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Collaborate with department leaders to align financial goals with operational strategies
- Design and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance and strategic initiatives
- Oversee the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executive review
- Identify key financial trends and provide actionable insights to senior management
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data across departments
- Manage the financial close process and coordinate with accounting teams
- Support capital allocation decisions by analyzing investment opportunities and risks
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track financial KPIs
- Lead variance analysis to compare actual results against forecasts and budgets
- Drive process improvements in financial systems and planning workflows
- Partner with HR on workforce planning and compensation analysis
- Assist in investor communications and board reporting preparation
- Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions from a financial perspective
- Maintain compliance with financial reporting standards and internal controls
- Mentor and develop a team of financial analysts
- Promote a culture of accountability and data integrity within finance
- Coordinate with external advisors on audits and financial reviews
- Translate complex financial data into clear business recommendations
- Support pricing strategy and profitability analysis across business units
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability
- Evaluate cost structure and recommend efficiency improvements
- Lead scenario planning to prepare for market changes and economic shifts
- Ensure alignment between financial planning and corporate strategic objectives
- Manage external reporting requirements and regulatory filings
